Take Action on Federal Judicial Nominations!

TAKE ACTION!  LET’S MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Tell President Biden and our Senators to fill every federal judicial vacancy before January…

Here’s why:  Federal judges are nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate.  These judges have lifetime appointments and will make decisions on every aspect of our lives, from the quality of the air we breathe to the kind of health care we can access.  They decide more than 400,000 federal cases each year, compared to the Supreme Court that hears only about 60 cases each year.

We need to ensure that as many of the 47 judicial vacancies (across the country) are filled with judges who will uphold core Constitutional values like individual rights, civil rights, freedom of speech, separation of religion and state, voting rights and more.

Judical seats that are not filled by the current Congress will be filled by the incoming one.  This is why we cannot wait.  We need to fill these vacancies NOW!

Here’s How to Take Action:

  • Call the Capital Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask for your Senator (do this twice… call both Senator Durbin and Senator Duckworth).  Tell them:

    • As your constituent, I want you to prioritize filling all federal judicial vacancies before the change in Administrations.  Nothing is more important than these lifetime appointment.  Our rights hang in the balance.

  • You can also email Senators Durbin and Duckworth with the above message at:

  • Call the White House on their comment line at:  202-456-1111 and leave a message for President Biden.  Tell him:

    • As we look forward from here, I ask that you prioritize filling all federal judicial vacancies before the change in Administrations.  Nothing is more important than these lifetime appointment.  Our rights hang in the balance.

  • You can email President Biden as well with the above message at:  https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/

And thanks for making a difference… Because Courts Matter!
